Welcome you to Mehlville Early Childhood at the John Cary Early Childhood Center! Our Early Childhood (EC) program is located in seven locations in the Mehlville School District: The John Cary EC Center, and EC classrooms at Beasley, Blades, Forder, Hagemann, Point and Trautwein Elementary Schools.
In Mehlville Early Childhood, your child will discover new friends and learn new skills through a safe, inclusive environment that nurtures the whole child. Our teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and support staff are highly qualified in their area of expertise.
Just a few of our program highlights include:
- Inclusion preschool program made up of children with disabilities and children without disabilities
- Missouri School Board Association Future Builders’ Early Childhood Program of the Year Award - 1st place in the large school district category; 2nd place in years 2014 & 2016
- Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Gold Level Recipient - tenth year in a row
- 2016 National School of Character and 2016 Missouri State School of Character
- Classroom technology such as interactive SMART Boards and iPads
- Program Wide “Take Care Code:” Take Care of Yourself, Take Care of Each Other, Take Care of Your School, Take Care of Your World
- Integrated curriculum aligned to the Missouri Early Learning Standards utilizing a constructivist approach
